OJJDP Bulletin Summarizes Data from the Juvenile Residential Facility Census

The Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) has published " Juvenile Residential Facility Census, 2008: Selected Findings."
This bulletin, part of the Juvenile Offenders and Victims National Report Series, summarizes 2008 data from the biannual Juvenile Residential Facility Census, which collects information about the facilities in which juvenile offenders are heldincluding size, structure, type, ownership, and security arrangements, as well as the number of juveniles who died in custody during the past 12 months. According to the bulletin, the number of juvenile offenders in custody dropped 12 percent from 2006 to 2008.
