OJJDP Releases Updated DMC Fact Sheet Report Cover Image

November 29, 2012

The Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) has published an update to the In Focus fact sheet, "Disproportionate Minority Contact." This fact sheet provides an overview of OJJDPs efforts to reduce disproportionate minority contact (DMC) in juvenile justice systems, summarizes states' DMC-reduction activities as of fiscal year 2011, and includes a description of OJJDPs five-phase DMC Reduction Model, which helps states determine whether disproportionality exists within their jurisdictions, and if it does, provides a step-by-step guide for their reduction efforts.
