National Research Council Report Supports Developmental Approach to Juvenile Justice

LogoThe National Academies' National Research Council has released "Reforming Juvenile Justice: A Developmental Approach." The report presents the findings of a 2-year independent study of the juvenile justice system commissioned by the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention. Researchers examined recent advances in behavioral and neuroscience research with regard to adolescent development and offending and recommend that this scientific knowledge be incorporated into juvenile justice reform efforts nationwide.
