Registration Open for Juvenile Justice Symposium and DMC Conference

On February 13–15, 2013, the Coalition for Juvenile Justice and the Mississippi State Advisory Group will host the 38th Juvenile Justice Symposium and National Disproportionate Minority Contact Conference in Biloxi, MS. Cosponsored by the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention’s State Training and Technical Assistance Center (OJJDP STTAC), the conference will highlight practice and policy models for addressing disproportionate minority contact (DMC) in the juvenile justice system. OJJDP Acting Administrator Melodee Hanes will be a featured speaker.
The symposium will feature sessions on the school-to-prison pipeline, cultural adaptations of evidence-based practices, and serving crossover youth. Joint sessions involving OJJDP STTAC will address effective DMC assessment and state advisory group leadership in DMC.
