On March 10, 2012, a 14-year-old girl was reported missing to the Bella Vista (Arkansas) Police Department. The teen had left a note to her parents stating that she felt no one cared about her and that she would soon be dead. Police investigators learned that she planned to leave the country with her ex-boyfriend. The pair were traveling in a vehicle with an Arkansas license plate to California and then to Canada.
