Annually between 1980 and 2010, about 120 juvenile females were implicated in homicides in the U.S.
The number of known male juvenile murder offenders in 2003 was lower than in any year since at least 1980, before increasing each year between 2003 and 2006.
However, the number of known male juvenile murder offenders declined about 29% 2006, reversing the recent upward trend.
