- The U.S. birth rate for mothers ages 15–17 fell 37% between 2000 and 2010.
- During this period, the birth rate for mothers ages 15–17 declined in every state except North Dakota (up 7%). The states with the largest relative decline include Connecticut (down 50%), followed by Delaware, Florida, and Hawaii (48% each); 13 other states (including the District of Columbia) experienced declines of 40% or more during this period.
