Indiana's delinquency services are organized at both the state and local level. Community supervision is administered by local judiciary agencies within circuit courts. Probation Officers in Indiana are local juvenile court employees. The Division of Youth Services, within the Indiana Department of Corrections, a state executive agency, administers commitments to state public facilities and parole services for those youth leaving state facilities. The majority of secure detention in Indiana is administered judicially at the county level; however, a few detention facilities are administered by the state, by local law enforcement, or by private contractors.
